Structure–Property Relationships for Weak Ferromagnetic Perovskites

چکیده

Despite several decades of active experimental and theoretical studies rare-earth orthoferrites, the mechanism formation their specific magnetic, magnetoelastic, optical, magneto-optical properties remains a subject discussion. This paper provides an overview simple model approaches to quantitatively describing structure–property relationships—in particular, interplay between FeO6 octahedral deformations/rotations main magnetic optic characteristics, such as Néel temperature, overt hidden canting sublattices, magnetoelastic anisotropy, photoelastic anisotropy.
